Atlas Piers can install a variety of foundation support products for different applications. To determine which product is best suited to resolve your foundation problem, you should have a foundation repair specialist examine your home to come up with a personalized solution. Below are some of our most popular residential foundation support products.

Under Footing Bracket with
Resistance Piers:

This bracket and pier combination is used for existing foundations to provide lift and/or stabilization. The bracket is placed under the existing footing, and the pier is slowly advanced to a sufficient load bearing strata (typically bedrock). Once the pier is driven, it is pushed to provide support for the foundation. These types of piers offer the most support and are by far the most reliable of piering systems. We install resistance piers with capacities from 60,000 to 120,000 lbs. For lighter structures such as single story homes, stoops, garage columns, etc., a helical pier is the optimal product.

Helical Piers:

If your foundation is sinking or settling, a helical pier can provide extra support. Helical piers are a type of foundation pier that are used to support the foundation when it begins to settle or sink. These devices are screwed into the ground beneath the foundation using a hydraulic torque motor, and anchor themselves into stable soil beneath the shifting top layers of soil. The weight of the structure is transferred onto the pier and it is then used to stabilize the foundation, lifting it to its correct position. Helical piers are typically used in situations where the loads are not sufficient for resistance piers. We install helical piers with capacities from 30,000 to 60,000 lbs. in residential applications and up to 200,000 lbs. in commercial applications.

Helical Tiebacks:

Helical tiebacks are used primarily to resist lateral forces on basement walls, landscape walls and footings. This horizontal pressure is extremely effective in straightening bowing or leaning basement walls. For basement walls, the tiebacks are installed from inside the basement, and the helical piers are screwed into the soil on the other side of the wall. A plate or steel channel is used to increase the surface area that the pier is supporting, ensuring that the helical tieback does not damage the wall as it straightens it. We install tiebacks with capacities from 45,000 to 200,000 lbs.

New Construction Helical Piers:

Atlas Piers installs new construction helical piers for home builders and re-modelers. These piers can be installed in portions of new footings or throughout the entire foundation footprint. This helps prevent future foundation problems by creating a more stable foundation in the first place. Home builders choose this option to extend foundation warranties, ensure structural integrity, and whenever marginal soils prevent using other foundation methods.

Oftentimes during an addition, there are obstacles that prohibit standard foundation installations, or there are concerns about existing soils. Installing new construction piers during the initial building phase can help ensure that the foundation remains structurally sound no matter what obstacles occur. We install new construction helical piers with a wide range of capacities. Call for your specific requirements.

Helical Slab Piers:

Helical slab piers work much in the same way that helical piers do. These piers provide support for failing slabs in areas such as garages, basements and patios. They are used by coring a hole in the concrete and then installing the helical pier with a channel bracket. The bracket helps connect the pier more securely to the foundation, ensuring that it can effectively support the structure. We install helical slab piers with capacities up to 20,000 lbs.
